Koala

Runs AI agents, jobs and dev environments in lightweight per-task Linux VMs on Apple silicon Macs, with API keys kept out of the VM.
What it does
Koala
Koala runs jobs, services, development environments and AI agents in ARM64 Linux virtual machines on Apple silicon. Each VM has its own kernel, disk and network and gets only the access you grant it. You can run a throwaway command in a fresh VM, create persistent VMs, or start a sandboxed agent with the internet off and an API key that never enters the VM: the key stays in your macOS login keychain and a broker adds it only to requests the policy allows (for example a policy created from an OpenAI template). Install with Homebrew (brew install kunalkushwaha/koala/koala; koala system install, no sudo). Requires macOS 26+ and linux/arm64 images; currently a 0.1.0 preview.
